Bob Bradley to coach Egypt National Team

Bob Bradley has been hired as the new coach of the Egypt National Team. The former coach has been hired to take over immediately, Egypt's state news agency reported. EFA spokesman Azmy Megahed said Bradley is expected to arrive in Cairo this weekend to finish the deal.

"All is good. Bob Bradley will be here on Sunday to sign the contract," Megahed told The Associated Press. Bradley will replace coach Hassan Shehata who left in June following Egypt's struggles qualifying for the 2012 African Nations Cup finals. The team has since been eliminated.

Bradley led the United States to the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He was dismissed in July after the Americans lost 4-2 to Mexico in the Gold Cup final, the regional championship for North and Central America and the Caribbean. Bob Bradley was replaced by former Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Egypt is trying to reach the World Cup finals for the first time since 1990.
