Former Spain coach Jose Antonio Camacho will direct China's national soccer team. The former Real Madrid and Spain national team manager will be expected to lead China through the 2014 World Cup qualifying phases in the tough Asian brackets.
The state-run Xinhua News Agency says Camacho signed a three-year contract Sunday. The 56 yr old Camacho replaced Gao Hongbo who was deemed to have not been successful in his tenure as China coach. China is coming off an impressive 1-0 victory over Jamaica in a friendly last week where defender Zhao Peng headed home a corner kick for the win at Hefei Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.
