North Korea grabs World Cup berth

North Korea held off attack after attack in Saudi Arabia to hold on for a scoreless draw and earn their first World Cup appearance since 1966 on Wednesday. They had to play the final few minutes with only 10 men after Yong Jun Kim was sent off.

The draw was a massive disappointment for Saudi Arabia who needed only a win at home to book their place. Now the Saudis must take the playoff route to qualify. They'll face Bahrain in a playoff with the winner facing New Zealand in a final playoff for a World Cup spot.

The four Asian qualifiers are Japan, Australia, North Korea and South Korea.
