The heights played with Argentina once again as they fell 2-0 at Ecuador Wednesdy evening. Carlos Tevez had a chance to put Argentina in front in the opening half from the penalty spot, but was unable to find the net. Lionel Messi also wasted a first half chance for the visitors.
The second half saw the home side find their game as Ecuador pushed for the win. Walter Ayovi grabbed the winner in the 71st with a wonderful strike and Pablo Palacios hit for the2nd goal inside of 10 minutes.
The win moves Ecuador into 5th in the South American quaifying for World Cup 2010 on 20 points just 2 points behind Argentina wo are 4th on 22.
